Joe Parcell
Associate Professor, Department of Agricultural Economics Executive Committee member
Joe Parcell is an Associate Professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics. Joe's research involves crop and livestock price analysis, market assessment, and value added opportunity assessment. Joe teaches courses in the agricultural marketing system, commodity marketing, international agribusiness, and commodity trading. He is Director of the University of Missouri Extension Value Added Center. He joined the faculty of the University of Missouri in 1998. Joe completed his BA in Mathematics ('93) from the University of Northern Iowa and MS ('96) and PhD ('98) in Agricultural Economics from Kansas State University.
Joe and his wife Julia reside in Columbia and have two daughters, Karly and Katie. In addition, they own a row crop farm in southeast Iowa. Joe enjoys farming, hunting, running, and home fix up projects.
