Bryan Garton

Bryan GartonAssociate Professor of Agricultural Education
Parliamentarian for Faculty Council
Bryan Garton is an associate professor of agricultural education. He received his bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Missouri and his PhD from the Ohio State University. His current research is focused on the influence that learning and personality styles have on academic achievement, retention, and graduation rates of students in higher education. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in verbal communication, curriculum development, instructional methodology, and practices and issues in teacher education. He has been recognized as the outstanding teacher and the outstanding advisor in the College of agriculture, Food and Natural Resources and is a member of the College's Teaching Academy. His teaching has also been recognized campus-wide with the Provost's Outstanding Junior Faculty Teacher and the Kemper Fellowship for Excellence in teaching awards.

He and his wife Debbie have two boys, Joshua, a student at West Junior High, and Logan a student at Paxton Keeley Elementary School. He enjoys water and snow skiing and participates in Cub Scout and Boy Scout activities.
