Clyde Bentley
Associate Professor
Clyde Bentley is an associate professor at the Missouri School of Journalism who focuses on reaching audiences through innovation. He founded MyMissourian.com, one of the earliest citizen journalism platforms in the country. For the 2009-10 academic year, he is a fellow of the Reynolds Journalism Institute developing strategies that allow newspapers to use mobile phones for news delivery.
Bentley earned his doctorate in 2000 at the University of Oregon after more than two decades in the newspaper industry. In addition to citizen journalism, he teaches practical research methods and opinion writing for print and blog. He has traveled abroad extensively for the Journalism School, including to China, Korea, Austria, England, Italy, and Mongolia.
