The Executive Committee is effectively the Council Chair's cabinet. It is made up of the officers of the Council which includes: Chair and Vice-Chair of Council, Intercampus Faculty Council representative, and the chairs of the five Standing Committees.
A recorder, a web-editor, and a parliamentarian shall be appointed by the Chair from the membership and approved by Faculty Council. The Chair of Faculty Council may invite these appointed positions to Executive Committee meetings.
Among its duties, the Executive Committee:
- approves the agenda for Council meetings,
- approves the annual Council calendar,
- recommends to Council the appointment of faculty members to various committees and task forces,
- and meets regularly with the Chancellor and with the Provost.
In addition, the Executive Committee may act for Council when necessary, in accordance with the "Rules of Order".
